Our PTA
Our Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) is known as The Friends of St Edmund’s School (FOSES).
We work together as part of the wider school community to support our children, their teachers,
and the school as a whole.
What Does FOSES Do?
• We fundraise in a variety of ways, including school fêtes, cake sales, special events, non-
uniform days, the Bag2School initiative, and Christmas card projects.
• We provide refreshments at events such as Sports Day and school performances, helping to
make these occasions enjoyable and memorable.
• We organise social events for the children—such as discos and fêtes—to add extra fun to
their school experience.
• And we are always open to new ideas!
Where Does the Money Go?
Money raised by FOSES is used to support the school in many valuable ways. We have contributed to
school trips, annual pantomime visits, the revamp of the school library, a mud kitchen for Beech
Class, and seasonal treats for all pupils (Easter eggs and Christmas surprises).
We have also secured grants for larger projects, such as installing playground climbing equipment
and repainting the playground. We work closely with the school to explore how we can support
pupils’ wellbeing and learning by fundraising for extra resources. How Can You Help?
Get Involved
If you can make it to any of our meetings, please come along to find out more about the specific
ways you can help. When we share the load, no one has to do too much — and together we can
achieve a great deal. Keep an eye on the noticeboard by the gate for dates and details of upcoming
events. And don’t underestimate the power of baking a cake — our cake sales make a huge
difference!
Tell Us Your Ideas
If you have suggestions about how FOSES can support the school, fun ideas for fundraising or social
events, or thoughts on how we should spend the money we raise, we’d love to hear them.
You can drop ideas into the suggestion box in reception or simply come and have a chat with us.
Lend Us Your Expertise
If you have skills that might be useful — such as photography, cooking, printing, or entertainment —
please let us know.
You might also have access to helpful facilities (e.g., studios or sports equipment) or contacts with
companies who could donate raffle prizes. Any offer of expertise or support is greatly appreciated.
