Welcome to the class pages for years 5 and 6.  We have had a fantastic start to the new academic year and the children have returned from their summer holidays ready to learn.  Please find our Autumn newsletter and curriculum map below.  As always, do come and see me if you have any questions at all.  Mrs Rogers.

Year 6 had an enjoyable afternoon last Monday (23rd April) dissecting lilies.  They identified the different parts of the flowers and thought about their function and how this fits into wider concepts, such as pollination.  Thank you to the parents who attended.

Welcome back! I have added some files (see below) to give you some more information about our learning this term.  Of course, in addition to this, year 6 will be spending the next few weeks preparing to take the SATs.  They have all worked so hard and we are also looking ahead to Kingswood and our end of year play.  Lots to look forward to! As always, if you have any questions do ask.

Mr Alfaro's Visit!

Mr Alfaro kindly agreed to visit year 6 to consolidate their learning about South America.  He talked about the country in a geographical sense, the history and culture and even brought them some delicious food to taste.  The children had a wonderful afternoon and some interesting and relevant discussions.  There were opportunities for some Spanish too!

Thank you to Mr Alfaro for giving up his time to work with us.

Years 4, 5, and 6 enjoyed a visit to Norwich Cathedral on 3rd November.  This was a spiritual, reflective and historical day in a beautiful setting.  Here are some photos of our day:

Year 6 children from St Edmund's and St Benet's had a wonderful day in North Norfolk.  They experienced life as an evacuee during World War II.  This included a journey on a steam train, making a meal using rationed food, identifying enemy planes and an air raid.
