PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION
OUR PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION IS KNOWN AS THE FRIENDS OF ST EDMUND’S SCHOOL OR FOSES.
WE EMBRACE THE SCHOOL’S WIDER COMMUNITY, ALL WORKING TOGETHER TO SUPPORT OUR CHILDREN, THEIR TEACHERS AND OUR SCHOOL.
WHAT DOES FOSES DO?
We fundraise through a variety of methods including school fetes, cake sales, special events, non-uniform days, the Bag 2 School initiative, Christmas cards etc.
We organise social events which give parents the chance to get together and have some fun, such as the annual Big Quiz Night!
We provide refreshments at events such as sports day and school play performances, to make these occasions as special and enjoyable as possible.
We arrange social events for the children, such as discos and film nights, to add another fun dimension to their school life.
And we are always open to new ideas!
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Recently the money raised by FOSES has been put to great use funding the new playground climbing equipment, contributions towards school trips; funding for annual visits to the pantomime and a contribution towards revamping of the school library. We were able to obtain grants to help with some of the bigger items.
We have recently purchased a mud kitchen for class one and are fundraising towards Spanish dictionaries and spell checkers, as well as towards costs of painting the playground.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
GET INVOLVED: if you can make it to any of our meetings, please come along and find out more about the specific ways you can help. If we spread the load nobody has to do too much and together we can achieve a lot. Keep an eye on the whiteboard in the playground and the blackboard by the gate for details and dates.
TELL US YOUR IDEAS: if you’ve got any thoughts about what FOSES could do to benefit the school, fun ideas for fundraising or social events and/or how we should spend the money we raise, please let us know. There’s a suggestion box in reception - please write just one idea/comment per piece of paper, thank you.
LEND US YOUR EXPERTISE: please tell us if you’ve got any skills you think we might be able to use - are you a photographer, cook, printer, entertainer? Do you have access to any facilities that might be useful to us, such as studios, sporting equipment etc?
SIGN UP TO EASYFUNDRAISING: go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk, create an account and choose St Edmund’s Primary School PTA - Bungay as your cause. Then whenever you shop online with any of the 1000s of retailers who are part of the scheme they’ll give money to FOSES and it won’t cost you a penny!
